About the Program:

Ages: Overtones: 17-26 ~ Junior Tones: 12-16

Participation Fee: $20/month

Background: East End boasts two traveling a capella groups: The Overtones (ages 18+) and The Junior Tones (ages 12-17). The mission of both groups is to create an encouraging learning space for youth and young-adult musicians to challenge themselves and grow in all aspects of singing, while promoting healthy singing and camaraderie. Auditions are held twice per year to determine membership. Members meet weekly to rehearse and collaborate to determine music line-ups.

Junior Tones Audition Requirements

• 2 a capella songs of your choice, sung a capella

  • Songs should be in two different styles and should each be roughly 1 minute long.

Overtones Audition Requirements 

*Current/Returning Overtones members do not have to re-audition*

For your Overtones audition, we request that you come prepared with the following:

• 1 a capella selection of your choice; your selection should be roughly 1 minute in length.

• One of the following voice parts for the song linked below (measures 1-39):

  • Sheet Music

  • Soprano 1

  • Soprano 2

  • Alto

  • Tenor

  • Bass

  • Balanced track

    • Virtual Auditioners: Use this for your video recording backing

If you are auditioning virtually: Please email a self-tape the requirements listed above, as well as your performance resume, to programs@eastendtheatreri.com by 8:00pm on April 24th in order to have your audition considered.
