Summer Vacation Camp
Synopsis: In each two-week camp, participants will learn about theatre and improv as they work together to rehearse a one-act play, which will be performed for family and friends at the end of the session. All experience levels are welcome!
Please note: The second summer session will be a repeat of the first, so please don’t sign your child up for both camps.
Logistics:
Location: 1336 Pawtucket Ave Rumford, RI 02916 (entry at door 8)
Cost: $400 per camper (a $100 nonrefundable deposit will be required to complete your registration)
Dates:
Session 1: July 8th-19th
Session 2: August 5th-16th
Session 3 (newly added): July 22nd-August 2nd
Times: 8:30am - 4:00pm
Please send your camper with water, lunch, and allergen-free snacks.
FAQs:
Q: Can I register my child who hasn’t yet finished kindergarten for this camp?
A: We leave it up to the parents’ discretion to determine whether a child is mature enough to handle camp. You know your child best, so if you think that they are ready, then we are happy to work with them.
Some considerations: It is helpful if your child can read, but not essential. We can give them a part without lines, if needed. Mainly, your child needs to be able to follow directions, work with other children in a group, etc.
Q: Will my child be working on a musical in this camp?
A: No, our school vacation camps focus on building the foundations of improvisation and acting. Participants will be working to present a comedy, which doesn’t include singing or dancing.
Q: My child is a true beginner; can I still sign them up?
A: Absolutely! We invite all children with an interest in theatre - from beginners to seasoned performers - to participate in our camps. There’s something to be gained for everyone!
